An Essential Oil Full of Properties
With Lavender, Tea tree (melaleuca alternifolia) oil is probably the most used and known essential oil. Traditionally used by Australian Aborigines as a remedy, Tea tree oil is anti-fungal, antibacterial (with large-spectrum) and anti-inflammatory.
Warning: never used this essential oil undiluted to avoid skin irritation.
Country of Origin: Australia Colour: Colourless to pale/yellow Odour: Camphorlike. Characteristic fresh, medicinal and woody. Powerful but pleasant smell. Extraction Method: Steam distillation of the leaves. You need about 100kg of tea tree leaves to get 1-2 Litres of essential oil.
