DIY Hair Mask With Touloucouna Oil for Itchy Scalp & Dandruff

Hair mask with natural touloucouna oil, organic tea tree essential oil and shikakai powder

An easy recipe with only 2 ingredients

Touloucouna Oil - Shikakai Powder

Last weekend, I was wandering on the Aroma-zone website, checking carrier oils and stumble upon the Touloucouna oil. Some customers left comments saying this oil would repair everything such as psoriasis. Also, according to the website, it is “Soothing, regenerating and restorative, promotes the repair of dry and squamous skin”. On top of that, my brother offered me a bottle of Touloucouna oil along with the Hibiscus one. So I thought I would give it a try...

If you’ve ever tried the no-poo method, you are familiar with Shikakai powder and its benefits: it soothes the scalp and really good to treat dandruff and itchy scalp. This powder has a cleansing power and helps to detangle. You can also add tea tree essential oil in this recipe but please check with the supplier how many drops (or percentage) you can put as essential oils are very powerful.

- 3 tsp Touloucouna oil. - 3 tsp Shikakai powder.

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl to get a brown paste. You can add a bit of water if you prefer a more liquid texture. Just apply the paste on your scalp and gently massage your skin.

Leave it for 20 minutes and then wash your hair as usual. To ensure your hair are not to greasy, you can even wash your hair twice.

I hope your hair will enjoy this mask and don’t hesitate to add your feedback in the comments.
